It's advised that no more than 10% of a dogs diet should be from table scraps. The fish will be good for his coat though.

4
2 point for the nuts. 2 for the fish

-3 for the fact you are feeding him off your own plate for the other 40%
-3 for the dog treats.

Where is his calcium, protein etc coming from?

There is a reason why they make dog food - its to provide your dog with a good well balanced diet.

0. You don't seem to have done any homework on nutrition. If you eat junk food you'll still live, but at a lower standard of health. Its the same for your dog.

For every 10kg bodyweight feed;

1 x tin sardines in oil, drain off the oil.
2 x volume of the tin as plain dog biscuit. (the cheap supermarket own brand, not the basted stuff)
1/2 x the volume of the tin as cooked green leafy veg and carrots.

For treats give plain rawhide chews, apple and raw carrot.

Dogs are usually easy to keep in good health but vets bills are a nightmare when they get ill.

Instead of Beneful (or however you spell it), try Nutro or something like it that does not contain as many fillers. Your dog will not develop allergies and other health issues later in life if you do this.

It's true that certain types of nuts are toxic to dogs and so are certain types of fish. I also feel 20% is a little much coming off of your plate, especially since there are a lot of human food that are toxic to dogs (onions, grapes, raisins, tomatoes, etc.).

Well, it would help if you were a bit more specific about the types of food he is eating. However, I will say that "treats" or junk food should never exceed 5% of a dog's diet.

What kind of fish? Fresh or processed? Deep-fried and breaded? ;)

What kind of nuts?

What is he getting off of your plate? Pork, grease, and gravy, or boneless, skinless, chicken and carrots?

ghetto dogs are tough. But i never heard of nuts being good, fish can be bad for dogs coat and table food is not nutritous.

try giving your dog proper dog food.also dont give nuts all the time give him tins or pouches of food.vary his diet and stop feeding him what you're eating it extremly unhealthy for a dog to eat what we eat all the time.

I am not a nutritionist, but I would say he lacks meat. Is he a lap dog and very spoiled?
