yea, sometimes its hard to get one's head around certain things which may seem cruel. These people lived in abhorrent sin, orgies, immoral forms of sex, perverting that which is beautiful and special between what is meant to be married people.
From a logical perspective, if there were indeed kids involved (the Bible does not say) and these kids learnt the sort of immoral things from what was supposed to be their role models (parents and older people) then, those children carried with them (in their knowledge) the disease of an immoral lifestyle. NOw when i say this, obviously, i am not judging, i'm trying to put the whole thing into logical perspective. Some people say that when childrens innocence are perverted, they're better off 'dead'. example, kids who were abused etc. I've often heard of females who had been raped say, i'd rather be dead than go through the memory of it...havent you?
I wasnt there, nor was anyone currently here on Y.A. so from a logical and Christian perspective (because thankfully God gave me a good brain) we can deduce that these children were spared the misery of perpetuating the sort of lifestyle that would destroy their inner sense of self. Living an immoral life, unmarried partners, homosexual sex, all these are not met with God's approval, according to the Bible, yet, today, because Jesus has died, we are to love everyone, even our enemies. If i meet someone who's gay or of another religion, my first inclination as a good Christian is to accept, not to judge, because God is the ultimate judge. Sometimes we don't understand when bad things happen (to good people)...but my take is that a diamond is worthless when uncut. Make of that what you will, God bless, Wisdom.

God was (and probably is) a vengeful bugger who had a penchant for wiping out everyone and everything he didn't like. Heck, he killed all the first born in Egypt as a WARNING!

Jesus forgives, God smites.

Yes, now you see why the bible doesn't make sense? They are just stories that were told on ancient times to keep the attention of all that were there...nothing else.
