It's wonderful because as we sing the songs sometimes it expresses the deepest desire of my heart. When i sing about wanting to know Jesus more- i find the music words minister to me- if my current walk is not in line with the song- it draws me to His throne room in prayer.
It's wonderful and how great it is that i can give back to God because of How much He's given me- especially his Son Jesus!
Hope that helps. Thanks for letting me share my heart,
Nickster

The way I like to look at it is this: our lives as Christians are supposed to be in every act worship towards God. There isn't a specific 20-30 minute time frame on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights when we come together and do our worship thing and that's it :D That and the fact that so many contemporary songs are written in a way that really focuses more on the individual than the One being worshipped.
But as a straight answer to your question, I would say in itself worship music is not extremely important, but it is something that I do enjoy very much, especially when im in iraq and a friend emails me a worship song she recorded its like music to my ears to hear that here :D

I would rather listen to praise and worship music then listen to songs about killing each other and sex, rape, insults i believe praise and worship music has love in it and no viloence no hate no disrespect no drug use no negativity at all so if there any demons or any devil leave me alone and let me praise and worship my Creator and my Lord Jesus Christ

I've recently been listening to Δαιμόνια Νύμφη, they're a Greek band that is trying to recreate the music of ancient Greece. I really like the sound of their music. I ordered a copy of one of their CDs from France (couldn't find it in the US).
Religious music has a much more powerful effect when it isn't in your native tongue. That's why the Catholic church used Latin in its mass for so long -- the use of Latin was different from the use of everyday domestic language.
Keep in mind that not all religious music is Christian.

I don't listen to much music. I prefer to make it myself. I only sing stuff I believe in - so, I look at the words first and choose based on them, then I go and perform the pieces. So I know before I even start that this is Christian music.

I used to listen to christian band alot "In One Accord." was really nice and upbeat. Got kinda tired of it, as with all bands, have since converted to islam tho and really have little interest in it in general now.
