I REMEMBER SEEING SOMEONE FLY IN TO THE COLISSEUM WHILE WEARING THIS FUTURISTIC JET PACK THAT ALLOWED HIM TO HOVER AND FLY. THEY WERE SAYING THAT IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN 20 YEARS OR SO TO THE PUBLIC. BUT HAVE SEEN NOTHING ABOUT IT SINCE THEN.

Still around for exhibitions. Still works, but not efficient due to low fuel capacity since they are "rocket" powered. I think, max. flight envelope is 1.0-1.30 min's.

yes, anything can happen and often if people gain enough power anything will. 1984 left me very shaken up as well. That’s not an strange reaction to such a book. 1984 has moments that take my mind to things of our past and our present: slavery, the holocaust, and the lives of the people in north korea. people taking the lives and the freedom right out of the hands of the people being held captive. people gain power by any means and they will use that power to gain more. yes, 1984 could happen. pray that it doesn't.

It's been around since the 1960s and will probably be around for quite a while more. Flight time is between 45 and 90 secs. It's not efficient and is pretty dangerous to operate. Would NOT want a large number of them in the hands of the "ordinary citizen" for those reasons.

It's still around, and is improved. However, I seriously doubt it will ever be available to the general public.
