just ignore the pro and against arguments about this and question urself: if Jesus never existed, isn't that a miracle far greater than his miracles? just think, they've changed the eras because of some imaginary fella'. ppl left themselves killed by lions and gave their life 4 an imaginary person. who of us would do that?

Well. This is a doozy of a response...

Jesus didn't exist? There's always going to be another man "claiming" to be the Son of God. Maybe a(nother) religious and/or cult leader will rise to lead a massive amount of people.

Maybe better things would happen: the crusades(which weren't really beneficial to the Christians, anyway) would have been prevented.

Maybe some bad things would happen: Countries sfounded by hopeful Christians wouldn't ecist including the U.S. of A. People simply wouldn't be motivated to die for a cause?

What's more interesting, that same "what if" universe would have same results even if you do switch Jesus to Muhammad or Abraham or any other leader. It doesn't even have to be religious, it could even be Charlemagne.

Jesus existence is amply demontrated even by contemporary nonchristian historians. for example Josephus.

That Jesus would not exist or to claim the nonexistence of God I think is wishful thinking by some people so that they can feel better about themselves and their sinful lives, because then there would be no demands.

I think poor Jesus did existed and was used to cover his mother's behavior. Is simple really. "I got pregnant by the holy father" the profecy was fullfilled by me!" Everyone believed it and voila, she didn't had to live with the shame of getting pregnant before marriage. They force fed Jesus that lie and he soon believed that he had the power to heal everybodies sins. Little did he know that his death would mean crap and that nothing changed.

A lot of atheists cast themselves headlong into hell because they are hell bent on throwing their life away. They don't like it when people tell them that God is far above them, is no respecter of persons and that God expects them to read the Word and learn. They can't seem to handle that God doesn't like them for what they are doing proselytizing for atheism and naturalism. However, today's atheist is tomorrow's Christian as we all know.

Eh, I think Jesus probably existed - as a radical rabbi who pissed the Romans off too many times and was then deified by his radical followers.

There are older religions that have a god with similar characteristics, though.
