I am 26, living with my parents for a short time to save money. I have a BF and my parents will NOT let me stay the night at his house, so i lie and say i am staying at my best friends.
How do I get them to understand that: 1. i am a grown up and if i want to have sex i dont need to sleep over
2. i would probably live with him ANYWAY before marriage
3. that its not their business?

Their house. Their rules. You are 26 and you should be able to live on your own. If you have to stay at your parents in order to save money then they are doing you a favor. The lieing is going to catch up with you eventually and then what are you going to do?

If you're living at their house they'll make if their business whether you like it or not. Be thankful you have a place to stay and parents that love you. If it bothers you that much then let it be a motivation to save your money faster.

Hate to say it but, looks like you need to move out. Your parents are still running your life and telling you what to do. Living in their home gives them a leg to stand on. Do what you want as long as your are being respectful in their home. Example: Don't bring him home to your house to spend the night. Your parents will get used to it or get over it.

It is their business if you are living in their house. As long as you are liviing with your parents you need to respect their rules.

You're 26!! Tell them flat out what you're telling us. Is lying to them really better than disobeying them?
The only problem is they might pull that "As long as you're living under MY roof, you'll live by MY rules" crap. In which case, you're better off lying. :-|
