I got a set of golf clubs for my birthday. I don't know how to play golf, how do I start? Do I have to take lessons? Can a beginner join a league? How do you find other women to play golf with?

You should take a few lessons, but if you can't afford them, then just spend a lot of time at first at the driving range. You can practice all parts of your game there if they have a putting green and chipping green as well. There are probably leagues for beginners. Just go to your local course and check out the bulletin board. Also, if you just walk on (as opposed to making reservations) at a public course, they will usually pair you up with other players. These may not necessarily be women, but you can meet other players and make connections through them with thier wives, girlfriends, etc. who may play golf as well. Good luck and hit 'em long and straight.

No, I started at 14 and performed on my high college and school group. I am a guy and played football, basketball and baseball in excessive institution. These had been the principal physical activities boys performed, and later we performed golf and tennis. Through my senior year I was once nice in golf and played that once I did not have a baseball sport. In school I most effective played golf. When you've got the talent, it's going to exhibit up rather soon should you follow. Hitting the ball will come first, then putting and ultimately contact across the inexperienced. Tip: rather work for your brief sport and hanging. These two areas will also be expanded in any respect phases of the game. A variety of younger gamers most effective hit balls after they practice. If that you could stand up and down most commonly off the golf green and are a excellent putter six toes and in, you are going to be a difficult competitior. Your uncle will be aware of what i'm speaking about.

i just recently started playing golf myself and i love it. i got a few pointers from my dad and my brother. you just need to go the driving range and practice keeping the ball straight, even if you can't get it up in the air yet it doesn't matter. just keep it straight. then go golfing with some friends that have golfed before and they can tell you what clubs to use, you'll have tons of fun. every time you go, you'll see that your improving. it's so satisfying, you'll feel great. on the weekend i shot par on our last hole and that was only the 4th game i ever played. golf can be frustrating sometimes but it can also be rewarding.

Start off by going to the driving range. Get a bucket of balls and start swingin'. You won't be good enough to join a league because you'll be concentrating on just hitting the ball. It's a very humbling experience and very fun. Watch other people swing and see what they're doing. After you're able to hit a few balls stright (don't worry about the distance), you're ready to start working on your chip shots and putting. Keep practicing and you'll get the feel of it. You can take lessons for some tips, but I suggest practicing on your own for a few months before you go. Good luck, and remember to HAVE FUN!

There are tons of videos and articles you can read on the net that might help, but the best thing is to take some lessons from someone who knows what they are doing. Practice at a range at least a few times before you go out and try the real thing.

start by reading a book on golf, like one by nancy lopez... get an idea of the game in general, try what the book says and swing the club(outside) until you get it... after that if you would like, take a lesson or two(not my style but might be yours) go to the range and pratice hitting to a target(always hit to something)... then try a short course(a nine par three)... most of all have fun and don't get discouraged(golf is a tough game). fun is the most important part of golf!!!
