Racial Profiling at Airports and Muslims?

Question

Since muslims are being racially and religiously profiled in airports, does this search include Black or White Muslims in America? Lets say that a family of 4 either black or white, walks through security with their American Muslim outfits. Do they get stopped or should they be allowed to board without being hastled.

I think Airlines wouldnt do this racial profiling, especially America, if the bombers were all Catholic, Born Again or Mormons.

Ideally, we shouldn't be allowing any carry ons and should search every person regardless. I do agree, it will slow down the process by a lot but it is so hypocritical to think that terrorists are limited only to use a particular description of a person to commit such crimes. Another comparison. If you own a computer, and you have antivirus scanner, you'd likely wouldn't be satisfyed if the scanner only found lets say 75 % of the viruses on it would you? So why are we letting terrorists use other backdoors when it comes to security that your life may depend on? That doesn't make sense.

You need to get over your anger and understand something.
The only (read: ONLY) active terrorists in the world today are (read: ARE) people from the Middle East.

Most black, white, brown and yellow Americans are okay with the racial profiling and are tired of being hassled at the airport just because our government is doing the 'touchy-feely, don't want to offend anyone' thing.

Listen, here's a tip for you - take a look at what the Israelis do at their airports.
When was the last time they had an incident in flight or on the ground?

Like it or not, the terrorists are not some African-American grannie (like the one I saw being worked over by the TSA goon squad at the San Diego airport) or some pimply-faced white teen...it is gonna be some 20-something guy from the Mideast.

It is NOT racial profiling.
And if it saves one life (of anyone in any country of any religious or political belief) then I, for one, am for it.

Is racial profiling nice? NO

Should it be done? YES

If you KNOW that almost all terrorists who are going to attack YOUR country are a spicific race or ethnicity, then yes, you should examine them a little more closely.

Does this mean ignore everyone esle? NO!!!!!

You still check evryone, nbut you pay more attention to those who fit the profile.

NOw, if this was reversed, and it was all blacks that were doing it, then yes, you should profile it.

If it was all Whites doing this, then YES, you should profile against whites.

If you know with a good degree of certainty that a certain group is more likely to do something, them yes, you watch them more closely.

In the U.S., profiling should be done against muslims, as they are the most likely to commit the terorist acts. In England 15 years ago, profiling should have been used against white catholics in Ireland. Why, because they were the threat!

If you work at a company that tests products on animals, you should profile against hippies? Why, because they are the most likely to cause you problems (think E.L.F., P.E.TA, etc)

Should all contries profile the same group, no that would be stupid, the group that provides the highest risk to your group should be the ones that are watched more closely.

Do do anything else is stupid.

To date only the Muslims have blown up airplanes. Only the Muslims have planned mass deaths that were stopped.
Only the Muslims have strapped on bombs, in sucide attacks.
Only the Muslims have threatened the USA with death and said that they were from Satan.
So far everyone has had to strip because we cannot offend them.
While they jump around in the streets saying death to America.
Well, that offends me.
If Mexico ever threatened USA With a terriorist attact they would start an all out war against them. We love Mexico because they have not done that..they just want a decent job. Let us become American citizens. Who couldn't love them.

Why do we have special circumstances for Muslims?
why do they get special status exempt from any laws of the land.
Freedom of speach applys only to them and we don't dare hurt their feelings. They are paying a prize of 12,000 dollars to the one who can draw a cartoon of USA or Bush or anything western in a bad light. Make fun of them. The worst cartoon gets the prize. If we did that to them they would burn down the state dept.

About racial profiling--I don't think it's that great of an idea cause if we are only checking obviously middle-eastern people then they will get some Caucasian convert to carry the explosives or something like that. Someone like that could slip right though.


And what you are talking about 'justmyoppinion'? If they were Christians people would be wondering how they could misunderstand the teachings of Christ so badly. After all there is no widespread persecution of Christians on account of the Andrea Yate's and women's clinic bombers in the world.

As long as terrorists fit a racial or religious profile, knowledge of that profile should be used to save lives. People shouldn't have to die because others don't want to be searched at the airport. The right to live is more fundamental than the right to privacy.

what! How would u know ones religion just by looking at them anyway? As where you can see ones race and yes it may not be right to treat them differently but what the hell do you expect? They bombed two of the largest towers we have killing tons of innocent people....we should be able to look at them any way we want to! We didnt do that BEFORE 9-11! They brought that on themselves....and if 4 blk or wht muslims walked through in their ''outfits'' YES they should get stopped....you cant worry about the morality of the situation when your trying to protect innocent people f.u.c.k whether it looks ''wrong'' or not to stop them! It's unfortunate, but it has to be done for safety sake. There is no other way.

Israeli airlines unapologetically racially profiles and has the lowest incidents of problems.

Any religious group or race that terrorizes and murders civilians, should be profiled.

In theory, racial profiling is NOT being done at airports. They are making everyone remove their shoes, dump their liquids and gels, etc.
