What is a good beginner program to use for making .swf animations, for a complete beginner? Thanks in advance for the help.

SwishMax (www.swishmax.com) is a great program for beginners. It's very basic and quick to learn. As you learn it, you can build entire sites out of it that would rival a lot of professionally designed sites.
