Jehovah's Witnesses

2006-08-16 07:32:34 · answer #1 · answered by John K 5 · 0 0

Jehovah's witnesses believe that only 144,000 believers will get into heaven and hence is why they are so zealous as they go door to door. It's out of fear and not love that motivates them.

The 144,000 in the book of Revelation refers to a set aside group of believers that God will use for a special purpose during the end times. Many believe that it will be 12,000 from each of the original 12 tribes of Israel (12 x 12,000 making - 144,000).

It would be ridiculous if there was only 144,000 who could make it into heaven-- Christianity has been around for how long- there would be no more vacancies. That's why Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult- claiming to be Christian- but teaching fundamentals that are not of the Bible or God.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

There is a cult in China, *Eastern Lightning, that claims 300,000 members and that only they will go to heaven. There is also the JW's, but they claim only 144,000 will go to heaven, well under the 300,000 cited here.

*Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The JW's believe 144,000 will get to heaven. They are WRONG. They have not divided the Word correctly. That figured comes from the representives of the 12 tribes of Israel who will be followers during the tribulation. Geesh, I may have just murdered the explanation on that....sorry. The point is it is false doctrine. Keep in mind the Bible is divided in dispensations. It also contains a lot of Jewish culture and doctrine. Follow the teachings of Paul and John. Those are written to the Gentile. Christians get their doctrine from Romans. We do not discount the rest, we just put it in its proper place.

Jehovah witnesses but they also belive the meek shall inherit the earth so they will still live but not necessarily in heaven. All unbelievers according to them are doomed to death on judgement day.

I know I have over simplified it but you get what I mean.

Who ever they are they are obviously mistaken.because the
Bible states at revelation 7:4 that the # is 144,000,taken from the
earth to serve as co-ruelers & priests with Christ the King.

144,000 jehovahs witness - very literal and taken out of context. even within their own church, they have 12 million alive. sorry but the 11.856 will not be getting in. i think they believe around 12,000 are already secure also.
