My boy Moses will be fifteen this November. He is doing good but this past summer he hurt his front paw getting it stuck in the cracks in the door step. He limps some but I find it's worse when it's raining out. I give him a 81mg aspirin on these days. I feel he is in great shape other then his age... I walked him lots through his life and rocked him too LOL. My boy loves M&M's ( with the peanuts ) He also loves skim milk. He get a little every now and then for a treat. I am on this site because I am scared to death because he will be fifteen in November. It will be like losing a child to me. I try to take him for walks now and no sooner do I get out of the driveway he holds up his sore paw and I end up carrying him. His weight is perfect and I prey he will be with me for a while yet :O)

Most small dogs live about 14 to 16 years. If you keep them slim and don't let them get fat they may even live longer. You need to keep it current on shots, deworming and feed a good quality food for maximum life span. Good luck.

It will depend on a large number of factors...

Quality of food and health care, weight maintenance, exercise, medical prevention and care, general physical safety, genetic background, and mental and emotional health all figure into the longevity of the dog.

All the best!

Anywhere from 10-15 years is typical. Some live to be even older.

Well, I looked it up on ask.com and it said that they live for 10-18 years. I guess it depends on how healthy the dog is. If it is really healthy, it might live longer than that.
