I say YES!!!! The Germans always talking about the past and feeling bad about it and looking at the same time there is another place on the earth and having fight and doing the same what Nazis do in Europe long time ago. We need to come together and work together and find the peace and make the peace. There is so many people suffering and everybody can do something the situation get better there. The same is in Iraq, the US made mistake just walked in start the war, this is why they didn't get help from the another countries. Lebanon/Israel conflict is different, there is the UN involved in it.

Why not? Are you afraid of feelings of National Socialism, which might return? Hitler is long dead and buried, so is his legacy.
I must admit that it seems that the old sentiments are re-establishing themselves again with most of the unemployed youth in Germany and that many are not happy with the unification between the East and the West, but that occurs in many countries nowadays as Danmark and Belgium for example. Where there is unemployment and economic uncertainty, there are feelings of nationalism - back to the old days, hate towards foreigners.

Either way, I do not think Germans would pose a threat in any way and it would be good for them to help contribute to the international community by keeping the peace, don't you think?

Certainly. The war happened 60 years ago and the world and Germany has moved on. If we want a strong and effective UN all must be involved for the betterment of mankind. Few nations have clean hands or consciences but with every generation hopefully we learn.

No, sorry. It is hard to fit the Genie back in the bottle again.
Their war crimes were too big to overlook now. We have plenty
of countries with armies that have not tried to overtake the entire world, while killing an entire race of people.

Actually China would be a good country to send. They would be impartial because they would never be able to tell Arabs and Jews apart, and they would have no reidiculous xtian sympathies for Israel or a need to bring on armageddon.

Yeah, Germany should be a part of an International Security Force in Lebanon, especially because Prime Minister Olmert asked us to come and because it is our duty as one of Europe´s biggest countries to promote peace worldwide.
