If the whole thing is iron, there should be no problem. If it has plastic or wooden handles, then don't. People will often get new cast-iron pans and coat them in grease and stick them in the oven to "season" them and give them a sort of 'nonstick' surface. Shouldnt be a problem. Just look out for "non-iron" stuff that may be attached to your pan, so you dont melt or burn it!

Yup, so long as there are no combustible parts on it. I finish omelets in the pan in the oven, also keep things I've prepared in the pan warm in the oven. Be sure to use mitts when removing pan from oven.

Cast iron, you mean? Of course! This is the best way to make cornbread, imho. Just remember never to wash your cast iron skillet with soap...water only. If you use soap (or put it in the dishwasher) you'll ruin the seasoning on it.
