OK here is another way. If you like the speed and convenience of microwave cooking then you will enjoy even more the speed and ease and versatility of pressure cooking. Pressure cookers are safe, convenient and fast to prepare just about anything from roasts, and poultry, to stews, soups, and chowders, pastas and veggies. Pressure cookers are relatively inexpensive however I recommend that you buy an electric pressure cooker with programmable controls. They are a bit more expensive but you don't have to be concerned with monitoring the cooker and heat settings on a stove and it turns on/off automatically too. Every new pressure cooker comes with a recipe book which easily tells you how to make just about anything. It is a fast, fun, fantastic, safe and very versatile way to cook and be impressive when you do. To give you an example; you can cook a entire corned beef and cabbage dinner with all the veggies for four in about 45 minutes from scratch depending upon the size of the corned beef. Try it. All kitchens should have one. Then go onward to a slow-cooker crock pot for another versatile way to cook one-pot meals although it takes all day. The pressure cookers save about 75%- 80% of cooking times from all other ways. You will find it easy as long as you can read and follow simple pressure cooking directions.

One way to slide easily into cooking would be to use the partly-prepared foods available.

Rice-a-Roni makes a good start for a one-pot meal. Follow the box directions, then add some frozen veggies and fish or cooked meat after you add the water. Let cook according to the box.

Lipton and R-a-R also make pasta side dishes that you can do the same with.

Cooking takes time. When i first got married I couldn't cook jack lol.
If you want something good for you . Stir fry a few veggies whatever you like. Put aside. Then make a package of Mr. Noodles, reserve 1/2 a cup of the water. cook noodles 2 minutes. The cold water you have to side add 1 tablespoon of cornstartch mix it in the water. When your noodles are done add the stock and then the cornstarch mixture, make sure yoiu stir until thickened then add your veggies. There you have quick healthy food you can add left over meat if you would like also :)

Look for those cookbooks in the library that have titles like Meals in 15 Minutes or Dinner in a Half Hour or Quick Meals. When you find a cookbook that you really like, order one for yourself.

Crock-pots are back and a great way to have a meal waiting for you when you enter the door after work or school.
