My bf and I have been 2gether for almost 9 months. He is going thru some drama and I wanted him to know I have his back especially since he told me that sometimes he feels like he can't depend on me. So I sent him a message just explaining to him that I was there for him and how much he meant to me, etc... and he got mad and said that men don't like it when their women know they are going thru something cuz it makes them feel vulnerable and men hate to feel vulnerable. He said if I know he's going through something to just leave him alone and when he's ready to talk he'll talk. If I do that how is he suppossed to know I got his back? Some men pls shed some light on this cuz I'm confused. Is this how all men feel or is this specific to Black men.

Your bf needs to get a grip honey. You did the right thing by letting him know you are behind him and that u are there for him. And not all black men are like that. Deep down inside I think he appreciates what you told him but because of his trial he will not show it. If he does not change soon I think you had better find another man who will be a man yet still sensitive to you.

I think its more black men. Not all men are the same. Men need to feel they are the protector and when they are vulnerable they feel less manly. He sounds like a jerk to me. Real men are able to open up to the women they care about. He got mad about you being nice and letting him know you care? WTF? He sounds like a jackas* to me and I would kick him to the curb. Find a real man not an immature boy.

He's just feeling vunerable, but a man can't express that.

he must be rough and tough.

He is in pain, and can't do this alone, but feels he must.

GUYS ARE GUYS...THEY ARE NOT LIKE US LADYS...LIKE TO OPEN THINGS TO EVERYONE.....well dont pressure him..if he has problem and it seems that he doesnt want to share it to you....well dont...just be there for him and do it for some diff ways.....LIKE PREPARE HIM DINNER OR ASK HIM TO GO OUT TO RELAX......INSTEAD OF PRESSURING HIM AND IT JUST CAUSE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP PROBLEM.... AND YOU END UP HEART BROKEN.....

well i used to be like you....like pressuring my exbf.....NOW I REGRET WHAT I DID....AND WHAT I THINK I GAVE HIM MORE PROBLEM THAT TIME...INSTEAD OF ME HELPING HIM I GAVE HIM MORE STRESS.

anyways this is all up to you dear...whatever makes you happy do it...GOOD LUCK

Wtf? He's an a**hole. He should really love and respect that he has you an emotional support. I don't know nothing about African American men. They seem kinda stupid, no offense. (I'm black non-American). Dump that loser!
