NERDS- they were lush, a box for 25p. You would get 2 parts to the box- one half with 1 flavour and half with another, so you could have 1 and finish the other half off when evrybody else's sweets had gone! haha.
Oh and also Disco discs- mmmm.

fruity stipe gum and chiclets....my great grandfather always had them for me and my brothers for a yankee dime....a kiss, we loved it! I am now 36 and was in walmart last november, there on the impulse rack was a box of multi-colord chiclets. I bought 6 packs and for Christmas I wrapped them for my brothers....the look on their faces and the memories we shared were priceless. Everyone talked about grand paw all day...it was awesome, I am smiling just thinking about it...thanks for the question and giving me a moment to reflect!

I bought sweets from what we used to call a penny candy store -- dots on paper, salty punkin' seeds, licorice whips wrapped around a red-hot fireball, candy cigarettes, wax lips.

We used to have penny candy called Mojos (yes they were 1 penny lol) they came in different flavors, they were a kind of soft toffee. LOVED EM :)

Those huge gingerbread cookies with the pink candied icing. Snow cones were great too!
