Those appetite suppressants are not good for you. Most of the time, people end up gaining more weight in the long run. If you are obesely overweight, talk to a physician, but if you are 10-20 pounds overweight, the best thing to do is to evaluate you eating habits and activity level. I need to loose weight, but I have not because I am addicted to chocolate and I keep drinking those damn coffee drinks. Do you know how many calories or in those things. When I lay off those things, I actually start to loose weight. Now if I were to exercise, and control my intake of those things, I really loose weight. I need to join an excercise class, because I don't want to do anything when I go to the gym. I need to get into gear. Argh!

i am actually on Phentermine (aka Adipex) it is a prescription only substance. I see my doctor once a month. I have used it before and lost 50 pounds, but 3 kids later i gained all the weight back (and then some) and am on it again. I have been on it for about a month and lost 12 pounds so far. It does pretty good in controlling my appetite and it gives you energy, because it is in the same category as an amphetemine. you just need to be careful because it can be addicting if you abuse it, but just keep the doc's appointments and change your eating habits while using the med and it is successful!

I don't use the suppressants because you will just start gaining the weight back once you stop taking them.
Weight loss surgery...obviously far too dangerous. This also will not work because you will still gain the weight back. ...and you will permanently damage your health. My aunt had a gastric bypass years ago, against her family's wishes. She regrets it now because she gained her weight back and is sick all the time.
Your best bet is to eat healthy and exercise. There are no short cuts in losing weight.

I have tried the Mega Green Tea pills, they have an appetite suppressent in them that helps me get through long afternoons. But nothing will work if you have no willpower.

As for surgery, I'd never do it. My mom did, she lost weight, but now she is getting fat again, because she never learned how to eat correctly. Teach yourself how to eat properly, and you will never have to diet again.

Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of weight loss surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Vinegar is supposed to take the edge off your appetite. A good strong cup of tea does too.
