They just told me I have Borderline Personality Disorder too and they started me off on Celexa.
BPD is basically really hard to describe. As for me, I have REALLY bad anger outburts. I can be so calm, and then if someone even looks at me the wrong way I will FLIP out. Literally, and want to kill them. even though I wouldnt actually do it. Its just that there is so much anger in me I explode. But then, I can be perfectly happy 20 minutes later. They say its a disorder in not know or understand who you are. You have a bad self image. You are also very sensitive to rejection. ANY TYPE OF REJECTION. Even if someone just looks at you wrong. You only see things in black and white and there really is no grey area.
Its actually pretty horrible. They say its a bit worse than bipolar because BPD is more complex. We are dealing with depression, anger, anxiety etc, instead of just Depression alone. I also have tried to commit suicide twice. I also have been cuttingmyslef since I was 13. I have abused drugs, and alcohol and they also say that haveing a risky sex life is common with us. I have been bisexual for a while. But the things bout BPD that I HATE HAVING, is that I change my mind too much. I can love someone so much one day and then wake up and despise them the next day. They say that we have difficuly relationships. Which is true.
Basically, in an overall statement, its kinda an attitude problem also. We just cant control out temper and get out of line when an emotion gets the best of us.
Its a long road of treatment, but we can get better
good luck and if you ever want to talk, email me!
Peace Out girly!
