my dad says that if you hold your burps in or farts, you will have a build up of gases aparently, and spontainiously combust.

Your dad is kidding you, it would give you a bloating feeling and give you a lot of pain, but you wouldn't go bang.

When you fall asleep your body would just pass the farts like it or not.

Not so sure about spontanioul combusting ?? !!! but your dad is right about the gas build up, which can make you feel very bloated!

I think your Dad should be put forward for a Nobel Prize. Am not quite sure whether it should be for chemistry or physics however.

that is so funny, but no. Your body will find ways when you are relaxed enough...it will escape on its own. Gases built up by our body and food is not explosive, however stinky sometimes.

you're dad is a moron AND an idiot. holding it in will bloat you up a bit and will be released one way or the other. you will not spontaneously combust bcuz of it.

No, it's not.

Combustion requires ignition. Nothing in your body is going to ignite anything else in your body, gas or otherwise.
