I'm in a band with three people, me on guitar and vocals, jordan on bass and mike on drums. I would rather record songs with all of us playing at the same time, but can this be done and how?

Another way to go is with "ambient" miking of the room. This is the least expensive and will definitely capture the "live" sound. Take some time to find the best location of the mic in this type of situation. If an instrument or vocals are over powering or not strong enough, moving the mic location may not be the answer. A better way to go is to turn down that which is too loud. This is a good way for you to develop the "dynamics" that is so important. The tape doesn't lie..............

There are interfaces like the Echo audiofire that allow you to run 8 to 12 simultaneous tracks from your board into different tracks in your computer. I have an audiofire 8. It was about $600.00
