My parents!!! I have been visiting with my aunt who lives about an 2 hour away. I fell in love with the puppies her dog just had and I lived with my aunt for four weeks. I saw them at birth. She isn't going to keep one and I need to be able to see one very now and then so I was thinking about getting a puppy I just need my parents to agree.

The best way to persuade someone to get a dog is to make them fall in love with it too. My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and I have wanted a puppy for the last year......but he did not. Finally, 4 weeks ago, I brought home a baby shih tzu puppy. Of course, he was mad, but this only lasted a very long week or so. Now, he loves her too, possibly just as much as I do. I don't know your living situation. But maybe, you could present your family with pictures and facts about the puppy, even try to bring it for a visit if you can. Do whatever it is you have to do to try and make others love him. If not.......I guess it is just not your time for a puppy.
Hope this helps.

Are you trying to get your parents to let you have one of the puppies? If so, there will likely not be anything you can do to persuade them to let you have one. Puppies and all other baby animals are so cute, but they all grow up to become adults. Dogs can live quite a long time (we have one who is 14) and require a great deal of time, energy, money, and commitment. If you are still a student living at home, you will probably want to do things after high school graduation such as go to college and possibly live in a dorm, or perhaps move to your own apartment, most of which do not allow pets. So...your cute little puppy you are attached to now would have to stay home with mom and dad who probably do not want to have a pet left at home when you aren't there. It would not be very fair to get attached to a dog and have him attached to you and then leave him. Your aunt will most likely be looking for homes for the puppies and if she breeds them, they will probably cost more money than you can afford. Wait until you have your own place and a lifestyle that can accommodate a "forever friend". If you love animals, maybe you can volunteer at an animal shelter or do pet sitting for people.

First of all, your question was really hard to understand. Please add more punctuation next time, it will help people better understand what u're talking bout. So basically u need 2 persuade someone to get a dog or dogs(them?)? Well, u need to be very careful about this; after all its not the same thing as persuading parents to let u get a dog And the dog will be this person's responsibility not urs. Tell him/her the good qualities about this dog/lab and the positive effects this dog will have on their home environment. Ex. the dog is energetic and loving and extremley loyal, he could even be a watch dog if you trained him! Good luck!!

Please dont try to get someone who doesnt want a dog to get one.It doesnt work that way and its not fair to the dog.If you are really crazy about this dog let it go so it will have a chance with someone that feels strongly attached to it the way you do.Someone that can give shelter .If you want it bad enough ask your parents if you can have it other wise let it go.Someone else will want it and love it.

just like the person below me had said, it is the other person's judgement in whether they want to take up the responsabilities or not .even though the puppies did belong to u at one time, it doesn't mean that the new owner is going to train them the same way u do....let them decide if they want one or not

If your friend wants a dog, she needs to make the decision on her own. Don't persuade her, you might cloud her judgement.
