has anyone thought of having surgery out of the us? if so, where? and, hopefully someone will have done this in the past, so thank you all in advance!

no, i don't think doctors outside of the usa are inferior! i've never been outside of the usa, and was wanting to know some alternatives to try! Honestly, i feel the usa charges too much money for their services, and was looking for a better way! thank you

The cost of knee joint replacement surgery is very low in India as compared to USA,UK and Canada. You can get the surgery done there in a fraction of cost of what would you pay in USA or private UK

There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges orthopaedic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by NHS in the UK.They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your knee joint replacement surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery for in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now.She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. hope this helps.
I would recommend this company to you as you are willing to travel abroad and get the surgery at low cost.

Well seeing that I was born and live in England, I suppose I'd better answer Yes. Also I had a kneecap removed twenty years ago but they would not replace it because they only had a ten year life expectancy then. I have a torn disc in my lower lumbar region which is causing a lot of pain so I am waiting to see about surgery for that, outside the USofA I might add.

Re-reading your question, do you think that surgeons in the rest of the world are inferior to surgeons in the US?

Cheers have a nice day.

Not just anywhere that's for sure.

England, Germany, Austria, Australia, Canada, Sweden.

I would not give any money to France.

Got to be careful about infection.
