If living in peace means avoiding a confrontation...
Let me put it this way, what would you think of a couple that NEVER fought. Never argued, but lived together in "Peace". I don't know about you, but I think that something is terribly wrong there. Everyone is different, and arguing about it doesn't mean you're not living peacefully. I always encourage an open dialogue. We need a dialogue about these things, or else we become like that peaceful, but unhappy couple that can't talk about the elephant in the room. Most open minded people find some sort of understanding in the other side (dispelling personal stereotypes) and at the same time are able to agree to disagree.
And come on, debating is fun!

Because we are in America and we have freedom of speech so we might as well debate here as anywhere else. Come to think of it if you check out other sites some of the same debates go on but the profanity and name calling aren't there. Shouldn't be having all these wars either but they are fighting over beliefs. We debate over social and culture beliefs, we even debate within ourselves; there is a debate going on inside of us too.
Satan starts a debate with us everyday one way or another some he lose others he wins. God has given us all free will so if the debates cease which I doubt they will, until the Lord comes and end them all; The choice we make whether it's right or wrong will be ours.

Well, most of the back and forth banter is pointless!
However, as a christian I do feel the need to try to get a true picture of Christianity out. I think most of the media and schools give a poor picture of Christianity.
The people who write the questions are 99% set in their ways, but you never know who will read these things so it is important to use this as place to inform.
Here is a online book to inform on the Christian teachings

Because they can. It's an open forum, and as long as everyone is sticking to the "rules", then everyone should be able to express their opinions and beleifs. A person's spiritual beleifs are at the core of each human, the most intimate part of him/her. It is no wonder that everyone feels so strongly! Just keep an open mind and try to listen to what others are saying, even if you don't agree with it. They may have a point, and they might just teach you something.

Most Christians don't try to debate, we are trying to spread the word, I guess sometimes it looks like that. Theres probably a better way to do it and praying about it helps.

THe whole atheist/Christian debate is not really worth having, as one will never be able to convince the other, as neither have concrete evidence, and even if they did, each would find some way around it...

Your motivation is good enough. Don't make any debate about beliefs here.
They make debate because (maybe) their beliefs is the only one can make them happy ending.
All religions suggest us to do something good. Why they don't think life after death? Heaven, paradise,... is only the name ( people give this name), so don't make any debate?
Have anybody asked ghosts, what they believed in before?

The sad part is that those who label themselves as Christians are doing what the bible says not to do and that's arguing and debating with those who have chosen to reject God and they both look like fools.

You're right! I come here looking for answers from christians and people looking to become christians. As far as I'm concerned, people with other convictions can believe what ever they choose. I choose to build MY faith on the ONE foundation, which is Jesus Christ. (my choice).
