try a different shampoo...u could be having a reaction to the shampoo! when you shampoo, make sure you massage your scalp w/the tips of your fingers (not fingernails, this irritates the scalp more). baking soda may be old school, but it works!
if you use a lot of styling products on your hair you could have a buildup that is causing the irritation...use baking soda/water solution to get this out. shampoo hair like normal, then put the baking soda with water mixture throughout hair (thinner than a paste but not too thin, mix in the palm of your hand), then allow to sit for about 5 min. rinse, and then i like to shampoo once more to get the soda out!
it's true to wash at the most once a day!
hope this helps!

you need a shampoo for dry scalp. Even though you might not have dandruff, Head and shoulders 2 in 1 for dry scalp works very well.
Also, you can go to a beauty store, and get an egg shampoo and egg conditioner. It also helps and will help with hair growth

I would stop shampooing your hair daily. You've dried out your scalp by cleansing it too often. Also, take a look at your shampoo. If the 1st ingredient after water is Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, you have too harsh of a shampoo. Go out and buy something gentler. Look for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or if you can find it, Sodium Myreth Sulfate. Those will be much easier on your scalp.

I don't think it has as much to do with the topical applications as it does with your nutrition. The levels of iron and protein in your diet, especially red meat consumption, will affect the body's abilities to construct healthy skin and hair. Go for really lean cuts of meat, stay away from ground beef, and drink milk. You will see an improvement in the strength and the look of the hair.

try using a clarifying shampoo, and rinse extremely well....with the last rinse being in cold water. if you need help rinsing, because your hair is really thick or curly, try using a wide toothed comb in the shower. it may also help if you blow dry your hair immediatley after towel drying....also, don't use too many hair products, a detangler/leave in conditioner should do the trick.

I'd say it's yor shampoo. Try switching to an anti-itch shampoo. I bet it'll do the trick. = )

Make sure you are rinsing it good because any shampoo left in your hair will make it itch
