I don't believe it is. There are some circumstances where tying the tubes should be recommended.

Ex - A single woman already has several children that she can't take care of. She should not be allowed to have anymore since it falls on the tax-payers shoulders to care for them. Solution? Tie her tubes.

Biblically , NO

Mans rules: by Catholic Churh rules made by the hand of man, Yes.

Go forth, be fruitful and multiply was a command given to Adam and Eve. In all the laws in Levitucus, birth control was not one of them, and there were plenty of Laws over 600, so biblically birth control, meaning stopping life from being created in the first place is not a sin and never even mentioned in the bible.

Yes, unless it's for a health-related reason. Not wanting to have kids would not be an acceptable reason.

Back in the day - and perhaps still - you couldn't get this done at catholic hospitals.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years that married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the sterilization is not for medical purposes, then it would be a sin.

With love in Christ.
