My friend has lost 3 stone (42pds)in the last 3+ months and looks great but her nails look awful. They are covered in deep ridges that sink in where the nail joins the fingers and continue to go bumpy all the way to the tip. I know it's down to a vitamin deficiency but don't know which one. can you help please?

I disagree about cows milk. It can't possibly solve as many problems as it creates in human health, it is a completely unnatural food for adult humans. Calcium and silicon however are supposed to be useful for the formation of keratin, which nails are made of.

Calcium is the main thing, but many vitamins go into making healthy tissue, so those 5 portions of fruit and veg are needed. As we waste a lot of calcium we take in, try fruit yoghourt as vitamin c helps you make the most of your calcium Many vitamins and minerals are co dependant like this so taking you vits in your food is the best way.
