There seems to be a popular misconception, so allow me to clear it up.
Jewish people do NOT believe that jesus was/is :
1) G-d
2) the Messiah
3) a Prophet
4) a Rabbi
5) or even a Good person.
6) (And some do not believe that he even existed.)

Nor do we believe that the "New Testament" is true.
(So don't try to prove me wrong by quoting it, because you might as well quote the memoirs of the tooth fairy.)

And I know that some of you will say "well, I know a jew who believes in jesus so...".
That is not a good point. There are jews who believe in buddha, allah, atheism, and everything. That doesn't make their beliefs typical of jews. What I described above IS the typical beliefs of jews.

Lastly, jews do not believe that we and christians worship that same god, despite the christian claims to the contrary.

Was I clear?

Please keep your answers short.
I will not read long replies, esp. if they're just copy/pasted from some website (try posting a link instead).

Your right. You dont believe the New Testament, you dont believe in Christ the way we do, and so we can not worship the same God. Cant argue at all with your argument.

J.C became Jewish, because his mom became Jewish. Point one, sentence two: incorrect. Some Jews believe Yeshua is the Messiah; because of the negative connotation associated with the term "Christian," they prefer to be called Messianic Jews. Number 6 of your list: Convince Maimonides, Josephus and other ancient Jewish historians of that!

Point two: yes, we understand this. We should be quoting OT passages FIRST, then showing you why we believe Yeshua fulfilled them as Messiah.

Point three: same as above.

Point four: Understood. That doesn't mean you're correct, it just means that's your current understanding. But we love you anyway.

Yes, you were perfectly clear.

Totally clear, I have to concede you that. As it was a non question it is to be supposed that you wish statements.... but then you don't want them do you?? because you took all the space you felt like but conceded none "Please keep your answers short". From your statement it can be inferred you are a very right wing Jew, so right wing that in any language that is an extremist.... and we all know what "extremists" are today right??? Your extremism is also very revealing and totally in pace with today's Israel's policies where a war was started to "recover" from hostage two Israeli soldiers and where the same war was stopped without ever bothering with the fate of those two soldiers... the extremist's policies where the ends justify the means. Your erudite monologue is interesting up to a point and may impress more than one until.....they read some of the answers where they show you for what you really are....an egocentric, hot air balloon...... Still....however being..... interesting and very revealing of a section of today's Jews. I don't think you will endear yourself very much to your Jewish communities who prefer a low key more intelligent stand.

Excellent summary! Would like to add for schoolandgolf and heatmizer that Jews were "saved" (redeemed from slavery) when crossing the Sea of Reeds. God forgives us whenever we ask -- one can "return" to the right path at any time. Your heaven/hell does not come from Judaism; the Jewish goal is peace on earth.

Jewish Historian Josephus disagrees with you.

"About this time appeared Jesus, a wise man (if indeed it is right to call Him man; for He was a worker of astonishing deeds, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with joy), and He drew to Himself many Jews (many also of Greeks. This was the Christ.) And when Pilate, at the denunciation of those that are foremost among us, had condemned Him to the cross, those who had first loved Him did not abandon Him (for He appeared to them alive again on the third day, the holy prophets having foretold this and countless other marvels about Him.) The tribe of Christians named after Him did not cease to this day."

I was under the impression that we worshiped the same God. I thought we just differed on if He had a Son and was part of the Trinity. Also, how would you get to heaven? You would have to sacrifice animals to fulfill the need for sacrifice. I don't think many Jews do that.

Whether you like it or not, we worship the great I AM who led Israel out of Egypt, we accept the Jews as God's chosen people and believe Jesus words that the disobedience of the Jews was a blessing to the gentiles, thank you for that, but a time will come when the Jews accept and then look out.

thats interesting. your the first Jew to ever claim to believe in a seperate God then the Christians. however i think your wrong in saying that only being that Christians take their God from the Bible, as Jews take from the old Testament. Christians do believe in old testament too.
