You could have migraine related vertigo. You should go to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor or to an Audiologist that can perform balance testing on you. There are certain types of vertigo that are very simple to treat with in office treatments and slight diet modification.

You really need to have this checked by a doctor. This could be the beginnings of a miagraine headache or something more serious like a stroke working on you. People just don't get dizzy and see lashes of light and it be nothing. Do yourself a favor and contact a doctor.

You could be having a migraine. Some symptoms include sensitivity to light and/or sound, nausea or vomiting, and pain near and around the eyes, and more commonly pain on one side of the head. Also seeing spots is a common symptom. You could try laying down in a dark room with your eyes closed, and drink plenty of water. I also suggest going to a doctor to get diagnosed if this happens frequently, it could be chronic and you may need a perscription if the problem is severe.
