I need some data for a study I am conducting and need answers to the following questions.
A) Do you have psoriasis?
B) Do you smoke?
My answers are yes to both and I am trying to see if there is a connection.
Thank you all in advance for your help here.

I have noticed that since I have reduced my smoking, my psoriasis seems to be clearing substantially. I am curious to see if there is a correlation.
Thank you all again for participating.

I will leave the question open for six days and when I have the results I will do my best to post them somehow. :)

Also need to let everyone know that I need at least 30 answers to make the study legit and accurate.

I have psoriasis and I do not smoke.
I have heard the same said for alcohol, but I don't drink either, and I still have psoriasis.
I think both, and stress as well, can cause it to be worse, but you most likely won't see it go away if you quit smoking. However, I urge you to quit smoking for your general health.
And, perhaps you should see a dermatologist. There are a lot of new advances in psoriasis treatment.

I do not have psoriasis
I have smoked for most of my adult life (quit 4 months ago)
Smoking can aggravate any number of health issues - it has varying amounts of Nickel, Sugar, pesticides, etc., and it is dehydrating in addition to lots of other bad things.
I think you can be sure that stopping smoking will have you feeling healthier in 8 weeks, but I don't think that is the cause of the psoriasis. In fact, I don't believe in any external factors for the cause of any disease or illness in the body.
A lot of what I believe can be summed up in a book by Louise Hay called You Can Heal Your Life - and she thinks psoriasis are caused by a fear of being hurt (she goes on to say Deadening the senses of the self. Refusing to accept responsibility for our own feelings).
Now, I don't know anything about you, but I do know that psoriasis can be awful and I do know that Louise Hay has been right about all of these things I have been able to apply this stuff too.
I urge you to stop and think about this. To be alive to the joys of living. To understand that you deserve and accept the very best in life. To truly love and approve of yourself. It can be miraculous.
Peace!
