it was prophecy that we would be divided in the last days as people would progress from bad to worse.
this they have done. If all wars were to cease.
If all religionous organizations were to cease that divide us.
If we were all in agreement about the earth. The money being spent on war or just 1% of it would feed all the starving people.
Rebuild all the homes blown up by bombs and if the murder and carnage was stopped. Factorys over burned out buildings to provide employment so everyone had a job.
If all the money that goes into war would cease, into religion and protection and diseases that we have cures for.
We could turn the earth into a paradise of unparalled porportions.

Swami Vivekananda. Real name Narendra Nath Dutta. His father was Vishwantha Datta and mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi. Narendra was born on 12th January 1863 in Calcutta.

I think he is saying to have compassion for your fellow man and treat them with respect. Have faith in your abilities. Once we have passed on, we will all meet in the after life before ONE God.

I don't know who said it but it seems to have little to do with "God." It seems to be more about brotherhood in one's own country, not to the exclusion of those of other countries but mainly about his own country. Which to a point is an ideal attributed to God, but can be believed by those who don't believe in God as well.

But I point this out only as a discussion point, the speech itself is rather moving and I personally liked it very much.
