That is normal. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I've gained about 10 pounds, and the Dr. told me I'm doing good on my weight gain. So 7 pounds is about normal for where you are at in your pregnancy.
This is how much weight you should gain in your pregnancy:
3-5 pounds during the first trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the second trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the third trimester
Don't worry too much if you gain more though, this is just a guide. My aunt gained about 80 lbs with each child, but lost it soon after with a little exercise and a good diet.
Good luck and congrats!!

That is only 7 pounds. That actully is about average if not too low. I am 21 weeks and I have gained 14 pounds through my entire pregnancy 3 pounds last alone and the doctor says I am right on schedule. You didn't weigh much before so dont be superised that if you gaine 35 lbs throughout your pregnancy and that be normal. If you were thin before then you will show earlier then a heavyset person would. I would not worry. If you are concerned ask your OB the next time you go in........... Good Luck and relax your fine!

Hello, I am almost 16 weeks pregnant...and I too thought my belly was big for only being this far along...I was around 130 lbs. before I got pregnant and now I'm a little bit over 140!! I even got online and checked out the weight gain charts, my belly is already showing. Every woman is unique and I'm sure it's normal. Sometimes I wonder about twins, I don't know yet though...I go in to my dr. appt. in a couple of days, so maybe my husband and I can see. I would be happy and excited if I were you, you are in your second trimester and a lot is going to happen, you baby is growing! Congratulations! I would love for you to email me back since were so close in our pregnancies, if you want to have someone to talk to and compare and whatnot...please feel free to email me...snsheley0415@yahoo.com...sincerely, Shannon

Being pregnant is not a ticket to go crazy and eat like a pig. Your weight gain sounds totally normal. Pregnancy requires 250 extra QUALITY calories from nutritious food. That is about an apple and two glasses of milk. So keep up the good work!! It is hard to take off pregnancy pouds after aa baby if you go over board. Stay between 25-30lbs. for the whole preg and you will be great!!!

I didn't really start gaining weight until I was 4 months pregnant (where you almost are). But I gained weight very slowly at the beginning (starting at 4 months). But when I reached 6-7 months, I put on 10 lbs in what seemed like overnight!
I only gained 13-16 lbs throughout my whole pregnancy, and lost it immediately. But that's just me. All women are different.
Good luck.

Yes it is normal but check out this website, its really cool. I am 16 weeks pregnant. When are you due?Good Luck!
What changes are occurring with your body?
The average weight gain at this point in your pregnancy is about 5 pounds. You may have gained a little more or a little less, which is completely normal. However, if it is significantly more or less, your doctor may want to discuss your diet at your next prenatal appointment. Changes in the shape of your abdomen may or may not be noticeable to others. You may be able to feel the top of your uterus four to five inches under your belly button.*

Yes and be happy. I am almost 8 months pregnant and only gained 16 lbs. and my dr. is not too happy. She said that I am in the low-birth weight gain category and i need to start eating more. I do. I eat a lot. I dunno, it all must go to the baby or something. But, everyone says how small I am for 8 months and that is irritating because it makes you feel like you are not doing something right. So, be happy that you are gaining weight. It is a natural, normal part of life. Good luck and congrats!

Just stay active but don't add anything you didn't do before.....do swim exercise and stuff...It's not a problem to gain weight, I quit smoking so I gained a TON of weight...And I went to a teen parent school and a few of the girls were so worried about their appearance and weight they didn't show and had problems with the baby because of poor nutrition and over exercising while pregnant.
