Hi there...Feline herpes is managable. A vet would be best to diagnose and offer a course of treatment. One of the posters mentioned a Feline Herpes Yahoo group and I think that would be a wonderful resource as well to look to additional options.
I've included a website below about Feline Herpes, which details a tremendous amount of useful resources for care.

RE: feline feline Herpes virus - feline rhinotracheitis virus - FHV-a million? I presently very own a cat that replaced right into a rescue and she or he's a service of the feline herpes virus. She is on a daily regiment of l-lysine to circumvent outbreaks, and is overly a healthy cat. Her in basic terms concern is that her eye will water (vet stated it rather is the virus laying off) ever now and then. My question is, am i able to undertake yet another cat if it has had all of it's vaccinations, or will the different cat capture the ailment and get sick? i'm not sure if getting each and all of the right vaccinations will forestall a clean cat from getting ill. Does all and sundry have any adventure with this and would help? i in my opinion choose to undertake yet another cat yet i do no longer choose yet another animal to get sick. thank you

It is Not curable, but it is treatable, IF it is feline herpes. It will remain in your cat, and flare at sometimes.
Treatment for herpes virus includes antiviral and antibacterial medications. The therapy includes drops or ointment applied to the eyes.
Vaccination against herpes virus is included in the typical feline vaccination schedule. While this vaccination does not necessarily prevent herpes virus nor can it cure herpes virus, the vaccination does minimize the clinical signs of this disease.
Well theres some information, I hope it doesn't turn out to be feline herpes, good luck.

I got diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 5 yrs ago, when I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I know loads of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/SCrpt everything got better.
Not only was I able to eliminate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system provided the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others too by sharing this story.

You will get all your questions answered tomorrow from your vet. There are several medications that can make him comfortable and live a normal life.
Because I rescued a lot of kittens that were born to mothers who were infected with herpes, I have seen a lot of this disease.
If you go to dogpile and ask for feline herpes it will give you several sites to gain information also.
Trust in your vet and your kitty will be fine. Good luck and thank you for being a good "cat mom".

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

I have 2 cats that have feline herpes. I give them 500mg of l-lysine (go to walmart and go to the supplement isle and that is where you can find it). the best way that I've found to give it to them is to get a pill spliter/crusher and crush up a 500mg pill and get some 3cc syringes and add 2 syringe fulls of water to the crushed up pill and let it disolve into the water and draw it up and syringe feed it to your cat, that way you know that they have gotten the full dose of it.
I also give 12.5mg of benadryl twice a day. this one is more difficault, if you can pill your cat, it's the best way to go, but, I'm afraid to do that, I fear that I'm going to end up making him choke. so what I do is draw up 1 syringe full of water and add 1/4 of a regular benadryl pill to it and let it disolve and slowly give it to him. he will try to foam it out of his mouth.
here is a group that is very helpful.

If you have any questions e-mail me and I'll be happy to help you out as much as I can.
Also, if your cat has a flare up of herpes it is best to wait till he is healthier to get the shots if at all possiable. if your doctor is going for the shots just double check with him/her that your cat IS actually healthy enough to get the shots. I've had to wait a couple of times till the flare up was under control to get the shots done.
