She is wrong. You go to church, get baptized in a particular type of Christianity, and you are.
To understand the message and live a life to be admired may take a lifetime.

It takes a moment of decision to become a Christian. It is a life long journey where from the moment you become "born again" you are always growing and learning more and more about God. But Maya's belief would be contrary to Scripture. And ultimately Christianity and its beliefs are found in the Bible and not from a person's personal thoughts...
Maya makes great greeting cards and recipes... but i'd say on this one she's a bit off...

It sort of makes sense, depending on who you are though. As you become wiser you learn more about yourself and about your savior, it seems to me that you can't fully be Christian if you don't know almost everything in capacity to become a Christian. In my opinion it doesn't take an entire lifetime to BECOME a Christian, but to know you ARE a Christian.

It takes an entire lifetime to become anything. That is kind of the point of life is it not? I think the woman is a brilliant, gifted observant woman!

I believe she means that with all of the trials & temptations throughout our lifetime, it takes our our whole lives on to work on being & remaining a good believer.

I would say it takes several lifetimes to become a devout religious person -- and several more to experience a much greater enlightenment.

I believe she has a point and I agree. Life throws a lot of curve balls and I believe you never stop learning and growing from the experience.
