They always post with something like, "go to AKC.org, you dumb-***" or "you guys are so stupid about animals". Maybe we want input from other people? Maybe there are stories that the AKC cannot provide? I thought this website was for fun and to interact with others with similiar interests. Anyone notice these *PEOPLE* on here?

I'm not a super-sensitive person; I give goofy answers and ask goofy questions like everyone else. I just didn't expect such hateful responses from people who are at level 5 on such a serious question. I assume that the main perpetrator will respond to this question soon.....

They have chased many sensitive people off the site, with their ranting..New users say they will never come back, as they can't take the abuse.. I try to report all who are rude and insulting, when the question doesn't warrant it...
If we all report abuse, then these people will get their accounts shut down.
Have you noticed that the rude people actually have very little or no knowledge to share?
It is easier to insult and try to make themselves feel superior..as they have a very low self esteem...Just like any bully.
We don't need them

Yep. Agreed. It's sometimes hard to keep coming back here, knowing that certain elements will be here making it confrontational and unpleasant.
However, I come here to share what I have experienced, and to pick up on the experiences of others. I have learned *a lot* from others here who have more experience than I do, and I have also helped others who have less than I do... That's the purpose of an answer board, I would like to think. Some people forget (or refuse to believe) that they still have much to learn, no matter *who* they are...
The AKC will tell you nothing of the specifics of being a dog breeder. Like the little "tricks of the trade", or the long hours spent pacing and chewing your bottom lip raw with worry over your female who's about to go into labor... Or the personal stories of all of the responsible breeders out there who put their very souls into their programs. You actually have to get out there and *ask* people to share those... ;)
Again, best of luck to you and your impending litter!

I agree with you 100%...aside from that fact that we might just want other peoples opinion on something, most agencies that deal with the health of animals will not give you information with out examining the animals...sometimes its a silly or very common thing that lots of other pet owners would know about and that you dont need to blow a ton of money for an answer for an experienced pet owner can have for you. I do notice these people on here and it is just a bummer. I almost always just ignore them or report them...one more thing especially when talking about the health of an animal...too many people give way wrong information, and if you dont know the answer to a question dont answer, it they may do more harm then good (i.e. lowfat cows milk as the answer as to what to a feed 4 week old kitten, not going to kill the kitten but horrible answer!!!)

I know exactly what you mean. I mean everyone should realize that this is not the vet's office, and any serious concerns should not be posted here as your only source of information. But there is no harm in just asking a question if you are also addressing the problem elsewhere.
And yes, I've seen so many people say "hey what you think of XYZ breed" and get the response "why don't you look it up instead of wasting our time you useless @^$"..... really unnecessary.

First off, people like to think that they know everything and try to impress others with their supposed "knowledge" of a situration. I agree that some people have a "road-rage" of sorts on this site. Just ignore them, they're obviously not giving you any information that you were seeking. If they honestly think that getting two points for being an A$$ makes them cool, they will be profoundly shoked when the real world (as in NOT cyberworld) comes to bite them in the butt.
Secondly, at least with the PETS section of this site, we are talking about living beings and people often hold VERY strong opinions and morals concerning other living organisms. I know that I have very strong opinions concerning animals, domestic and wild. I think a lot of peoples' frustrations come through when they are responding to questions. For instance, I get really frustrated when someone asks about giving their dog human medicine. Something that seems so basic to me may not be that obvious to someone who has less experience with pets. I sometimes take that for granted. But then again, that's why they are asking and AT LEAST they are asking rather than just popping a human-medicine pill in their dog's mouth to begin with.
People are on here (ideally) because they have similar interests, as you said. But people with similar interests will inevitably have differing opinions about the best way to approach the subject. And some people are much more passionate about a certain issue, or much more educated/experienced on a certain issue. It's hard to tell, especially when typed words cannot convey the tone of the writer and assumptions about attitude must be made.
Just ignore the people who are on here to get points or act like they know what they're talking about. They're really not worth your stress or consideration.

I think they just want the points but I have yet to see what Im going to get for the points. So Im not sure what their objectives are.
I have noticed so many respond with go to the vet. I don't think people that are asking questions need ten people to tell them that. Before people respond they need to make sure what they want to say isn't already up there.
In turn I do see questions asked over and over. They need to search previously asked questions before posting a question.

I notice these kinds of remarks all the time. It really sort of aggravates me to see that people are so damn mean and rude. I guess it shouldn't surprise us, I mean we all know there are plenty of a** holes in this world, why wouldn't we see them on this site. It seems as if they are everywhere now. I think some of these *PEOPLE* just visit the site to be mean. I don't think that half of them really care to help anyone with their questions or concerns.

i believe that a lot of the questions asked are meant for funny answers so they can get a laugh out of meaning like the one i just answered about feeding a horse cheese so it wouldn't bite someone i did not take that one very serious but i answered the question pretty seriously but you cant help but laugh at the question although i do agree that it is ridiculous to have to curse about it

People who treat other like people they are stupid are usually trying to through people off of how STUPID they are. Ignore them. They are not worth the time or effort.
