Click on the start button
Select Run
Type in: msconfig
Click the start tab of the window that appears
Look down through the list for the file that is opening
If you find there, uncheck the box in front and it will not longer load on start up

While there, look down the list and see how many (usually all) of the other items being loaded you want to uncheck. The more you do, the faster your PC will run.
If you change your mind, you can go back and recheck the item
All of these are files being preloaded whenever you start your PC. None of them are essential to Windows. So turn off all that you can.

What OS are you running?
When you right click on the file and check its properties is read only checked (if so uncheck it).

Where is the file? If its on your desktop you can go into dos (click start --> run and type in "command.com or cmd.exe" then do a cd\whereever your desktop is ex c:>cd \documents and settings\desktop and type del yourfile.exe

If that doesn't work, booting into safe mode (press and hold F8 while booting) and deleting it that way might do the trick

there is an 800 number in front of your harddrive tower maybe by the start button, call the number tell them the problem they will let you know it's safer that way.
