I've decided I want to go into the field of weapons design(non-nuclear) but I can't quite figure out the course of study needed to achieve this goal.Should I be looking into some sort of mechanical engineering, physics....I'm a little lost and need some help.

talk to your school counselor/advisor and they'll probably be able to get you on ther right track.
or you could always call the recruiting office and ask for some information about that job or if they know who to contact to ask about looking into that as a career.
you could also go to your local library and find those career/job books that are so handy dandy. (your librarian should know what these are) and figure out what you need to go into in college to pursue that career.

Start with mechanical, electronic or engineering. All three of those specialties are used in modern weapons.
