If you are saying you saw something that was not right with a patient and their child, you should discuss the issue with your employer and the employer should be the one making the CPS call.

In my state, dentists are under obligation to notify Child Services if they suspect there might be abuse. Dentists are often the first to see symptoms because of injury to teeth and mouth.

If you are an employee of the dental office, there should be a protocol for reporting. Ask the office manager or the dentist for instructions. Be careful and do everything BY THE RULES.

I think everyone in the medical field is considered a mandatory reporter. If you think it was serious, yes.
