They are still good.... $1 bills have not changed since then. They have changed the higher bills but the old ones are still legal currency. (People aren't used to seeing the old ones anymore but they are still valid.) I've never had a problem using old ones... But if they don't take them, then you can always change at a bank

I wonder if you are from England... because I went there with some old British pounds and they wouldn't let me use them because they weren't the new issue. So I had to go to a bank and change them, what a hassle. We don't have anything like that here. You can use the old money. I used some $20s that I had found in this pouch that used to be my grandfather's, and he had died in 1994 I believe... and so these 20 bills had to have at least been that old, but I think they were a lot older. Some lady at the store was like, "Wow, haven't seen these in a while", but they are still legal tender and you can use them anywhere.

They're valid, it's up to the first bank they end up at if they put them back into circulation.
