So we bought a dog a couple months ago. The previous owners told us that she was a Chihuahua. She kinda looks it, but then I have my doubts. What do you think? She is almost 2 months older than the pic and has been gettin spots like a dalmation, LOL Here is a link to her picture

I just wanted to add, that no matter what kind she is I love her the same. I was just curious to see what others thought. :)

Oh she is sooooo cute! Looks like she could be a Chi or at least a mix. (I have a Chihuahua that doesn't look it. He's 10lbs with dumbo ears.) She looks like a pure dog to me. Also, some Chi's don't look it if they aren't a "quality" dog which doesn't mean a thing! Chihuahua's come in all different colors and patterns. There is not a standard so her markings look normal. I'm sure she'll be a great dog and no one will be looking at her pedigree papers.

The Chihuahua is the smallest of the AKC registered breeds, weighing in at two-to-six pounds. No height is given in the standard, but most Chihuahuas are six-to-eight inches tall. As with many breeds, the body is slightly longer than it is tall.
The overall appearance is of a fine-boned but muscular dog. The head is distinctive with its rounded skull, large eyes, and large ears that perk upright when the dog is alert and flare out to the sides of the head when the dog is resting. The muzzle is moderately short and slightly pointed; teeth are arranged in a level or scissors bite.
The Chihuahua has a graceful neck carried with a slight arch and sloping gracefully into the shoulders. The topline is level, the ribs rounded and well-sprung, and the tail moderately long and carried up in a sickle shape or as a loop that touches the back.
Smooth-coated Chihuahuas have a soft, glossy, and close coat that is full over the body and scanty on the head and ears. The long-coated dogs have a longer soft coat that can be flat or slightly curly and must have an undercoat. The tail on a longcoat resembles a plume; the ears, feet, and legs are feathered; and the neck carries a ruff. Either coat can be any solid color or can be marked or splashed with color on a white background.

She looks kinda like a Papilion mix or some thing like that. She sure is a cute mix though!
The best way to try and figer out what the mix is did the breeder have other dogs running around there. What were they?

Her coloring reminds me of a Jack Russel. She could be a mix, but I've found so many times in my life that mixed breeds are better than pure breeds. I have a Spitz/Heeler mix and Border Collie mix and they are the best behaved dogs I've ever had.

She's very cute. Her head looks like a chihuahua. Is she supposed to be short coat? Her hair looks a little long. Hard to say really!

I agree with "bobwehadabab," that little sweetie looks like a chihuahua and jack Russell. Just keep loving her,it doesn't matter what her pedigree is she will love you back.

cute doggy. could be part chiuaua, but i dont think chiuauas have color markings like that. though if she mixed, i doubt its with a dalmation. if she is part chihuahua then a dalmation would be too large to breed with its parent. could be part beagle or something like that.

What a cute dog! It looks to me like she might be mixed with a little beagle/hound dog or something.
Whatever her lineage, she's looks like a sweetheart!
