It doesn't help anybody. Why not just tell me you don't have feelings for me like that. What am I supposed to do, Hang around and still be "like a brother"?

b/c they care for you but thats where it ends, they dont want to bump uglies with ya, they jus " love you lika bro"!!..AKA: Family member!

Because they are too weak to be truthful....you should consider it a huge favor and thank them for letting you know before you had serious feelings. And if those feelings have already started to bloom, well then maybe there simply aren't any "fireworks" for her and that is simply lack of chemistry....no ones fault but she should just be honest with you. I agree, by saying this she is not helping anybody and most likely hurting someone she actually truly cares about! When girls grow up, we do find our confidence and are less afraid of confrontation. Sorry you have to deal!

It's possible to love someone and not want to kiss them. Normal People love their siblings and parents, but that doesn't mean that they want to kiss them or go out with them. When women say that, it means they genuinely care about a guy and they like having them around, they're just not looking for anything more than brotherly love. Best of luck!

They have the same feelings for you that they would have for a brother...there's love, but not romantic love. They care about you but aren't interested in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.

Girls say "I love you like a brother." because they really do think of you as a friend that is just amazing to be with and they don't want to go out with you. Some claims that they don't want to 'hurt' us, because of what happens in after-relationship. I have been told by many girls that I've asked out that they think of me as a 'brother' and one told me they don't want to hurt me if they break up with me. If you just put it in your perspective, it's not that hard to figure out. You're friends with this girl, she's great, she's funny, she helps you out with things and you help her out with things, you two always give each other hugs, she tells you she likes you, but you don't have any feelings for her, you try to respond in a way that tells her you don't have any feelings for her, but you still want to keep the freindly relationship you have with her. It's like that with girls. In girls minds "I love you like a brother." is like marking you as The Amazing Best Guy Friend to them, they really want to continue that 'special' relationship that you two have, and forget the incident (you asking her 'the question' and her 'rejection') that had just happened. It hurts the girls to lose a guy friend that is like a brother to them, they just don't realize that saying "I love you like a brother." is meaningless to us. It's the best they can do. They literally do "Love you like a brother." if they really don't love you at all they would say they like you as a friend. Just keep your friendly relationship you have with them, I know it's hard, but do try your best, because it means alot to them and shows them that, you do care about them, and you aren't the type of guy that would get hurt easily like a baby.

well, sometimes it doesn't mean she doesn't like you... like me, i always say "i love you like a brother" to my crush, you know.. i want to tell him "i love you", but the thing is i'm too afraid of rejection, that's why i say it that way, so that it wouldn't be too obvious that i have a heavy crush on the guy... "like a brother" doesn't mean that a girl don't have the feelings for you..

Because you may be coming unto them and they don't like it so they tell you that so you will be creeped out and leave them alone.

If you cuss at her and call at her a b**ch, you'll never talk to her again. But if you keep the relationship at a platonic level, and she really means it, she might introduce you to her friends (probably more attractive and better suited for you).
