It's not true. Yes they were saying it had to do with the waves but it's a total lie.

As quoted:
Well, this will pop up into the news every so often. The problem is, Cell phones do not cause cancer. Everything we know about physics and science says that not only do they not cause cancer, but also they can not. To understand why, you have to understand what it is a cell phone does. Cell phones do indeed emit 'radiation'. But radiation is simply a generic term used for anything that 'radiates' out from a source. There are many kinds of radiation, separated mainly into two categories, electromagnetic radiation, and particle radiation.
It's a total myth to scare idiots. Don't believe everything you hear.

The "cause" is the radio transmitter that is an essential part of the phone. It is a very low wattage (not exactly a micorwave oven) so the danger with the signals is minimal.
The little signals coming from wifi are available 24 hours a day but transmit only when they receive a signal needing a reply.
Strong radio waves are different from weak radio waves. There is always someone who says anything with electricity is scary. I know someone who didn't want to sleep with an electric blanket for fear the radiation from the electric wires in it would cause her to be sterile.

It's not likely there is any relationship between the emitted radiation from the cell phone signal to cancer. It's actually been proven to that effect.
However, a cell phone does put out a good deal of heat and it raises the question of how much heat is necessary to create free radicals which could lead to brain tumors.
Overall, the risk is minimal but non-zero.

The suspicion with cellphones was based on the production of microwaves from the devices. However, to date, there is no definitive proof that the radiation from these types of devices is sufficient to cause cellular changes that can lead to cancer.

It has been proven that it can make a person more susceptible to brain cancer being exposed constantly to the magnetic signals from a cellphone antenna...but the risk is minimal. I would suggest if you are that worried about it, just buy an earbug and that should eliminate the threat!

The radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation sent out from your cell phone hits the molecules in your brain and knocks electrons into different orbits or breaks molecules, etc. The signal isn't too power full but it can mess you up.

The radio waves from cell phones are damaging because your head is so close.

It would be the waves from the phone going through your head constantly, thats why they relate it to people who talk on their phones a lot.

The thought is that the magnetics may cause cancer, although this has not really been proven
