Consider taking a course at your local community college. Some colleges offer basic spoken "insert foreign language here". You can also pick up great basic books at the bookstore. They have books called Spanish, French, whatever in 10 minutes a day. Pick up some children's books in the language. They are simple and easy to understand. Immerse yourself in the language. Watch the Spanish channel on TV. Purchase some books on tape and listen to them on your drive to work.
