Chapelite .... My Bible says the *Lake of Fire* means...* the second DEATH.* Indeed Satan and his demons will be burned alive. But they will not ..live forever.. in torture, they will be destroyed there.

Genesis 3:15 b ..He (Jesus) will bruise you in the *head*..

Romans 16:20 God will *crush* Satan...

Hebrews 2:14 b..that through his death he might bring to *nothing* the one having the means to cause death, that is the Devil...

Matthew 25:41b..Be on your way from me, you who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels..46) and these will depart into ..*everlasting cutting-off*.. but the righteous ones into everlasting *life.*

The fire has an everlasting result....death..

Right Rabbit..consider what Jesus said;

Luke 13:5 No, indeed, I tell you; but, unless you repent, you will all be *destroyed* in the same way.

Jesus said 'destroy', not eternal torture..

Also at Rev. 20:13, it says death and Hades/Hell were hurled into the Lake of Fire...so, if the Lake of Fire really is the 2nd DEATH, which my Bible says at Rev. 20:14, then hell is... not a fiery place thrown into another fiery place, ..but Hell, the GRAVE, is destroyed, and no longer exist. No one else is going to the 1st death ever.

Rev.20:15 *Furthermore,* whoever was not found in the book of life was hurled into the Lake of Fire.

This indicates that as long as children are born and taught God's requirements, any who oppose go to the Lake of Fire, be it into the indefinite future.

If one chooses the way of Satan, will he not reap the reward of Satan?

You have just violated the warning found in Revelation 22:18-19: "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy in this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will strike him with the plagues that are written in this book. If anyone takes away any words from the book of this prophecy, God will take away his portion of the tree of life and the holy city that are described in this book."

If anyone needs repentance it is you. The second death described in Revelation 20:14-15 is called a "lake of fire."

Just so there's no possibility for a mistranslation, here is the original Greek:

Lake is "limne," (Pronounced lim'-nay) which has the idea of nearness of shore); a pond (large or small), used in the KJV as a lake.

Fire is "pur," (Pronounced poor) and is a primary word; "fire" (literally or figuratively, specifically, lightning), used in the KJV as either fiery, or fire.

Hard to see that as anything other than what it says it is. Further, Jesus Himself said that "In that place, worms never die, and the fire is never put out." (Mark 9:44)

I fear for you teaching falsely about what awaits the disobedient; making them believe it won't be so bad.

I have heard of such, but that is no big deal. When I began to take the Bible as the truth, a reference point and standard for how I was to live, then I saw that punishing flames, which we commonly call hell, are part of the picture the Bible paints. If you can't accept the Bible as truth, then it doesn't matter. But when I read, like Revelation 20:6 that there was a "second death" then I have to consider what that might be. When I read in Revelation 20:10, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever", then I have to consider that there is some place of eternal punishment, fire included. When I read in Revelation 20:11 of a "great white throne" and a description that implies tremendous authority and follow that with Revelation 20:12 saying "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works", then that picture is just about as clear as can be that we mortals--mortal means we die--will be judged "according to their works", and that makes it crystal clear to me that on my own standing, from my own life's efforts, I'm in deep s, um, stuff, when my time of judgement comes. Verse 13 continues to clarify things, "and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." Verse 14 makes the pronouncement I therefore cannot miss, "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." In case I did anyway, then verse 15 says, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

I don't care whether that is culturally or politically correct. It doesn't matter whether anyone else finds it within their picture of how God should or should not operate. It tells me, that if the Bible's story of God is true, then I have described, in vivid terms, what is ahead--if my name is not in that "Book of Life". Whatever you or anyone says could, should, or would be, I can't get past that. Whatever specific term you want to use, doesn't matter, there is an end that comes for evil personified, call him Satan, call him devil, I don't care. There is an end of each and every human when our Creator weighs our worth based on the evidence of our lives. If I in faith believing on Jesus wipes my failings off the pages of my record so that I don't have to "fear the second death", great! Failing that, I see that the Bible says I get to share that place of final punishment reserved for Satan and all the rest of us that don't measure up with God's heavenly standards. As the Bible describes, God invites me to be forgiven and accepted into heaven through a work that Jesus did. If that description is wrong, it doesn't matter then, does it? If that description is right, then hell or whatever you call it, is a place of flames, a place for eternity, and a place for all those whom God sweeps out of the way because they don't measure up to his plan and expectations. Whether it fits your picture, it is there, IF you accept the Bible as true.

Hell is basicay seperation from GOd. This is true. But Revelations also tells us, after the tribulation, and the 1000 years Satan roams the earth, thos in "Hell" will be cast into the Lake Of Fire, and THAT is vividly described in the Bible as well, and NOT a pleasant place.

I agree with Preacher. Both Daniel and Isaiah speak of an everlasting torment. Revelation makes it extremely clear. Those not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be thrown in the lake that burns with fire. Jesus taught of the rich man who was in torment day and night as well as confirming the words of Isaiah in speaking of a place where the consuming maggot will not die as it consumes. I would suggest you not try to candy-coat the truth. The Bible is warning us of the reality of hell. It would be better to heed the warning and take the free gift of salvation rather than recreate a more pleasant illusion.

Either way, I know that I don't want to be there. Even if it isn't the torment of hell fire, it is complete seperation from my God, and I could never take that.
I learned more about Hell from Jesus' parables. Jesus decribes it as "outer darkness"(Matt 8), and "prison". And many other parables that could be interpreted as symbolic use the phrase "cast into the fire" so consistently that it seems completely plausible. But then there's Mark 9:45: "It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than with two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched"

So I think that the Bible paints the picture of everlasting fire. But even if it isn't, it's the most miserable of all places; even spiritual death on earth isn't as bad if we aren't aware of it. But in Hell, knowing for all eternity that you missed out on being with God forever...spiritual death could never be so painful on earth.

You go to hell for living an angry, hateful life, not for rejecting God. It's more complicated than you think. It's a simple idea but not easy to explain. You have to unlearn what you know. Most of it has been taught to you to confuse you. There are hot hells and cold hells and others inbetween.

definite it really is exceptionally actual, yet no longer in uncomplicated words in words of Christianity. the point right that's to get to entice close god as he's, and if every person has no longer executed that, then even as they die--- how might want to their untrained spirit also be able to settle for the actual undeniable actuality that they were with god, if right here in the international they did not well known his existence for the era of their complete existence? it isn't only Jesus... if one opens his soul to god, and thirsts expertise and tries to do what he perceives as proper...then good things will happen. i imagine the dimensions on which this may happen is somewhat a lot how spiritually conscious the man is even as they die.

If you have lived in this world. you should believe in hell. Have you seen Schindlers List, have you seen Band of Brothers. If you have not, then see these two movies and understand there is Evil in this world. and there is a hell. My husband is in Iraq fighting. For what? I just have to watch the movies and see they are trying to stop the tyranny. Tyrants are evil and the devils instrument. ....(.ps my favorite part in Band of Brothers is when they discover the concentration camps. US soldiers wondering why these people are in this prison camp...are they murders? are they rapists? what was their crime they ask and ask....no crime the translator says. they were just born. that was all.)
