No, but on the show City of Men, which airs on Sundance, it happened to girl on last night's episode. She was caught at a club kissing another girl's boyfriend, so they took her upstairs and cut her braids off. She did't way to go, but they dragged her.

Never. I was punished, but never my self-expression. Then again my mother was Literature and drama teacher. I on the other hand...shaved my sons head completely...after I warned him not to share bruhes and try on hats that don't belong to him at school. He's 6, didn't listen came home with head lice, and I gave him a consequence. He says his hair is no longer "cool". I think he's learned a valuable lesson....and to preserve his locks in the future he will listen to rules. I suppose it depends on what the reason was behind it. Besides a health issue....I can't see why a mom would do that to teach a lesson. I mean did you wear a bright pink mohawk to your Grandpa's funeral when your mom requested for this one occasion, to don a hat? This is a very circumstantial question.

Yeah, I did a long time ago. But it wasn't all bad. My hair was down past my butt and my parents decided to donate it to locks of love. I know other people that have had them too. This kid that was in my English class freshman year of high school actually had one, and he gave me the hair that he got cut off, and it is still on my wall. I actually have some other guys dreadlocks on my wall too!

i've never recieved a haircut punishment. i usually like to change my hair style so for me it would be a reward. when i get punished it's more severe like being whipped with a belt or being hit.

I knew of guys back in the 70s who were dragged to the barber by their angry dads to get crew cuts because they had long "hippie" hair.
