it depends on the coach and/or the league. I've coached at the YMCA and had up to 12 kids but as few as 8.. only 6 can play on court MAX at one time (per team that is). but there is no limit to # of players on a team unless the league they play in sets a limit. you usually don't want more than 10 because you don't get much chemistry with so many different players. Ideally 8 or 9 is good cuz then you can have a good nucleus and then sub here or there when needed.

On most teams there are about 12 or something around that. On the court there are 6 players at a time.
