Is it possible for a State like Alabama to have its own Marathon . I mean we really need a boost!?

You need to do some research. Birmingham has not one, but two very successful and competitive marathons that draw national and international runners. There's the Vulcan Run (http://www.vulcanrun.com/) in November and the Mercedes Marathon (http://www.mercedesmarathon.com/) in February.

Of course it's possible. In fact, I'm sure there are lots of marathons in Alabama. Here's one I found that's been going on for 30 years!
