uh, yah dude I don't know where you got the brothels part but you've been had.... The Pill wasn't invented in brothels. The Rhythem method was acknowledged and put into place by scientist. etc. etc.
Most Christians see contraception as moral because its better than having an abortion, ruining some young girls life, or bringing a child into the world that is undernourished, underloved, and uncared for. Alot of times when this happens, the child feels neglected by the world and lashes out at it. Its just no good.

What is your problem sith contraceptives? Keeping in mind there are several types? I am a married Christian and I am on the pill because we want to have time in our marriage to enjoy each other and build our relationship before having children. Plus I am not a baby machine. I believe God created sex to be enjoyed not just for baby making. Try the Song of Songs a whole book in the bible about sex. Not to mention that we can give 3 children a better life then we can give 12. As a doctor you should know what that does to womens bodies. Oh and that doesn't impress me. I have friends who are doctors and they admit they don't know that much.

I read some of the answers before I attempted to answer. Christian or not God did not make a woman to just birth children. What happens if the woman has a medical problem and can't have kids. Should she and her husband refrain from sex? I think not. God made us the way he did so that husbands and wives could enjoy a sex life together. It would be wrong if we did not use our brains God gave us and keep from bringing children into this world that we can not feed and clothe and give a education to. It is much better than murdering an unborn baby. I don't know where some of you get these ideas. it amazes me. But any who, God gave us the sense to use common sense and it is only common sense to use birth control so we don't bring kids into this world that we can't feed. There are enough starving kids in the world as it is.

Abstinence is a sexual fetish in itself, for sexually active people contraception can be seen as extremely moral...it's all a matter of whose point of view and whose morals we are talking about.
Diseases are just as happy to infect moral people as they are to infect immoral people and it's best to use condoms whoever you are if you might be at risk of catching an giving someone else an std or Aids.
Sexual behaviour is no more or less moral because you do or do not use a condom, it's just a piece of rubber, I mean ...you wear rubber gloves when you do the dishes to protect your hands is that a moral problem?..no it's just being sensible
I agree with angeldolls below too, though you question seemed to apply more to condoms than to other methods of birth control like the pill etc.nothing more wonderful than a baby that's wanted... nothing more wretched than to be an unwanted baby.

Nature creates millions of sperms, which all wither and die. Any of them had the opportunity to be a human being. Is it immoral to deny so many sperms an opportunity to live by limiting only one egg to be fertilized?
Everything has a place in the order of things. When there are people stuck on a small island which has limited food, and we know that if more people would land on the island, some would starve to death, would it be right to bring in more people knowing that some of them will die.
Everything is relative. Be fruitful and multiply was an injunction given when there were no people. People who obey the Lord's injunction nevertheless shall inherit the Earth.

Carl....sad little boy.....time for your meds and bed ok?
Seriously though, you really are off the mark here. First off you betray your duplicitous nature by declaring only protestant christians think this. Also, where on earth did you get the idea that contraception came from brothels. You really need to get an education beyond the 8th grade, especially if you going to espouse such drivel.

Protestants only believe contraceptions as being ok morally if they are the kind that prevents pregnancy before conception. Where they were invented is irrelevant. Nice try though

I'm protestant and think it is okay because I need to take care of the children I have.... if I didn't have them then I couldn't be intimate with my husband... which would not fulfill my obligations as a wife... and I don't think I should continue to have children at the expense of the ones God has already given me.... Also, I have had pregnancies go very wrong... and make a choice not to go through the death of a child again.

Are you a protestant? I never heard someone say it is a moral issue attached to protestants? Lets talk common sense. You pee billions of sperm a week, a woman has period once a month for most of her adult life. It immoral to let those eggs and sperm die? Maybe it is more important to plan to have children when your are ready to have them. Even protestants believe you wait till marriage, but once your married you don't have to populate the world every time you have sex.

I was never a catholic nor raised under its RULE so to call me Protestant is your miscue; that's one on you! Brothels were visited by and occupied by just as many catholics as hindus in India; that's two! contraceptive techniques were first sanctioned by the catholic from the Vatican itself; that's three!
