That varies from airline to airline. To be safe, you should check with the company you're flying with and see what their requirements are. In general, nothing pointy, explosive, or wet.

anything of liquid or gel consistency won't be allowed on except medicine, saline solution, and baby formula. that's what i've heard..but you should probably make sure with your airline. good luck.
