All they think about is the US freebies, welfare, health care, education to their 20 kids, all paid for by US taxpayers.

Their attempt to 'get a better life' is more from necessity than a desire to own a bigger car or have a bigger house. If you stop and consider the economics and living conditions of their home country and the better pay offered by working in America, you can then understand their desire to go to a place that promises a better life for their families.

You compared their coming to America to dealing dope and I think this is far a leap and isn't justified. Most of the immigrants living in America have come here to work at legitimate jobs not to participate in crime. Therefore comparing them to criminals is a unrealistic.

I don't think that america should just open the borders to all who want to immigrate here but I think we should also be realistic in our expectations. Most illegals are taking jobs that most american's would do. These low paying, labor intensive jobs are being done through an illegal immigrant work force because the legal native american workforce will not do the job based on the value of the work done. Digging a ditch is work minimum wage at the most, the 90% of americans wouldn't do it for that pay. Thus.. illegal immigrants who are thrilled to have a job that pays such rates compared to the same job in their home country are doing these jobs.

Hopefully this will give you an different view point on this issue.

"if i was selling cocaine to make money to provide my family with a better life does that make it ok?"
A~ No it does not make it ok. It is a crime (and a serious one now a days)

"why do illegals think "trying to get a better life" is justification to invade America?"
A~ I don't know......but if we used that logic than every poor person in the world would be living here!! The illegals and their supporters will use just about anything to justify being here..... I've seen some pretty lame excuses. Even going as far as to compare deporting illegals to the Holocaust !! Pretty lame!!

Not all illegals sell cocaine to make money. And if they did, I highly doubt it would be to provide for their families.

And no, not all criminals want to get a better life. Some never change. Take a look at the criminals here in the U.S. Do they all change? No!

You are absolutely right..... We can't jusitfiy the fact that they just want a better life so the came to america illegally. Does rule of law apply to anything anymore? I mean I understand the rational-morality and can agree with very few cases(most being life or death). These people are not innocent; they broke the law coming here. What other laws might they be willing to break. Let's see 1) It's illegal for them to have a job 2) it's illegl for them to drive a vehicle 3) It's illegal for them to set up residence 4) They illegally obtain social security numbers (which are fake numbers to begin with) 5) They commit tax fraud when the fill out tax forms which they fill out using the social security numbers (they claim 40 dependents so nothing is taken out of teir checks and then never file at the end of the year) 6) When they do drive cars the don't have insurance. 7) They obtain invalid drivers lisences.

Some of these things are misdemeaners, but a couple are felonies... By law if they commit a felony they are suppose to be sent back to their country immediately. But our country has grown to lazy in standing firm against crime. I mean just look at Cynthia McKinney the congresswoman that hit a cop... Congress had a hearing and said that she was wrong for doing it; but they never indited her or charged her with a crime. If it was me and/or you that did that we would be in jail (Same with what some of the mexicans do).

And don't give me this jive about there are 20 million of them; we can't afford to do anything. Oh, but we can afford a 40 billion dollar prescription plan and a trillion dollar war (which last time I checked when at war we're suppose to protect our borders from any invasion {which we should be doing wether or not we are at war}). You mean to tell me that nowhere in the budget is there money given to the I.N.S.? I thought they were responsible with tracking this guys down? Are they even doing their jobs? We are just to lazy to do anything about it. If you deported 20,000 tomorrow; It wouldn't solve the problem, but it would be a great start.

No matter what your dispostion in life may be; it doesn't make it right to commit a crime to solve anything. In rare cases like Hurricane Katrina; you have some small exceptions. The cops didn't arrest anyone for stealling food and water (necessities of life), but did arrest peope for stealing T.V.'s. There's a big difference between stealing for survival and to purloin just for the sake of having an item. And don't pull a Celine Dion on me and cry while saying 'They are poor people that never touched something like that before. And they are going through living hell. Who cares that they took a TV?' I do. If you let one person get away with it (even in tragic times life hurricanes); slowly but surely the order will degrade into anarchy. Then after a while it would turn into Escape From New Orleans starring Kirk Russell. I understand compassion, but were is their compassion for other people when they steal a TV? I would gladly over look it if someone broke in my house that just stole my food. They might of needed more then I did. But not everything I own. What ever happen to a job or working to afford something like that? Oh that's right; those jobs are being taken by the illegal mexicans!!!!!!

They think it's ok because there hasn't been a politician yet, Republican or Democrat, with enough backbone to close the borders, and start deporting the 11 million illegal aliens that are in this country. Someone needs to do something about this or we are going to have a serious problem on our hands. As of right now, of the 1,500 outstanding murder warrants in L.A. 93% of them are for illegal aliens. People hide behind the facade of political correctness because they are too afraid to step up and do anything!

HERE IS A STORY OF A REAL CRIMINAL.

Border cops nab cheese smuggler

Phoenix-Arizona, Aug 16: Puzzled U.S. border police arrested a Mexican smuggler with 88 pounds (40-kg) of cheese hidden in a special compartment in his truck, police said on Friday.

Customs and Border Protection spokesman Roger Maier said officers at the port of entry in Columbus, New Mexico, referred a Chevrolet pickup for a routine secondary examination on Wednesday.

Officers using an X-ray machine saw the outline of 16 bulky packages stashed in a secret compartment behind the seat, which they initially believed were packets containing illicit drugs.

"Generally if you see something (with the X-ray machine) you expect it to be narcotics, but this turned out to be cheese," Maier told Reuters by telephone.

Officers regularly impound drugs including Marijuana, Heroin and Cocaine at border crossings from Mexico, although Maier said the smuggled cheese haul was unusual.

"It looks like it was destined for people who wanted a taste of the old country," he added. Police arrested the 38-year-old driver, seized the cheese and confiscated the truck because he failed to declare his cargo.

In 2003, border police in the area impounded nearly 800 pounds (360 kg) of bologna as it was being smuggled across the border from Mexico.

IT'S NOT JUST DRUGS THEY SMUGGLE.

I myself think we should get back to a day when people HAD to go through the proper channels to make themselves legal immigrants. INCLUDING IMMIGRATION PAPERS. I'm sick and tired of people trying to jump over our borders and get a free ride. DO they know how vulnerable that makes us as far as letting potential TERRORISTS come into our country? We HAVE to tighten the border patrol in order to stop illegals because if we didn't, then we would be overrun in a matter of a very short time, by thieves, murderers, terrorists, need I say more? I am with you on this one. Anybody else? PS Sorry if y'all out there have Mexican relatives that can't get over here except by illegal ways, but that's the way it has to be. Sorry. If you don't like it, then I'd just say "LEAVE"

I don't think illegals believe that what they are doing is "invading". They are coming to work...not sell cocaine. Are there a few bad apples, sure...but we have so many of our own, that it is hypocritical to judge them.

In a market economy, and a capitalist economy...if a job exists and there is someone to fill it, everything works. There is a reason that we will never get the illegals out of America, and that is called "Profit"

No administration will "solve this problem".

Because our government has been more than happy to provide them with everything they need to make a better life, for free. Who the hell wouldn't want to come here?

As for the Indian comment, my forefathers came here from England to escape religious intolerance, not for a better life. The toils and hardships they endured to make this country what it is today are unimaginable. There was nothing easy about it. Nothing was given to them and nothing was free.

For the cocaine part, no it's still illegal. The illegal immigrants probably come because they think that America has better paying jobs and everything will just fall together. That is what I think at least.
