OMG I know what your talking about, my hair was so damaged that if I wanted the damage part to be cut I would have to cut it really short & but since I have curly hair short was not the answer. Anyway I found a new stylist to cut my hair she told me to cut my hair every 3 months for trim only & so I would not get so much split ends & to use Sebastian Potion 9 it's a leave in conditioner or you can use Infusium 23 for dry/damage hair. So now my hair is looking better & growing.

Your hair is actually dead and grows from the root so cutting it will not make it grow faster, nor will cutting it a certain time of the month. Your hair will not continue to grow after you die, you skin shrinks a bit and so it appears that way (no easy way to describe it). Brushing your hair a certain way will also not help it grow any faster. Taking "magic hair growth pills" will not work either. They are a rip off. They may make your hair grow healthier and thicker but not faster. Those are old wives tales. Cutting your hair will get rid of split ends and make it look healthier which can make it appear longer. You hair will only grow so long before it falls out. This is predetermined by your body and it can change throughout your life. There are somethings to do to ensure your hair stays as healthy as possible. Eat healthy (lots of protein and fruits and veggies), don't process your hair too much (dyeing, straightening, perming ect.) and use an all natural brush (it won't strip your hair as much) and try to comb or brush only when it's dry. Wet hair stretches and breaks easier. Hope this helps

No! If your hair is truly damaged then you should not use any heat styling products on it for at least 3 weeks. Also, you should you "Hello Hydration" shampoo and conditioner from Herbal Essence. If your hair is so damaged that you can hardly brush it without pulling hair out or getting knots then you need to talk to your hair stylist about getting the ends of your hair cut off, then you should stay away from heat styling products for at least a whole season.

no because when hair gets damaged, its near the ends...and when you get your hair cut, it gets rid of any damage. the only reason why hair wouldnt grow back, is if you damage the root somehow, like if you got a cut on your head and a scar was left. But otherwise....should be cool:)

No, it actually makes your hair healthier...when you cut your hair you are cutting the split ends off...it wont damage your hair i promise...also if you want to keep your hair healthy..just a few tips..you want to use a brush that does not have those little balls at the end of the bristles on your brush..that will tare your hair. and also if you brush your head upside down it makes your hair grow a little bit faster! :-) just thought you would like to know.

Damage doesn't usually occur to the hair follicle that is inside the scalp. so no, hair damage usually doesn't prevent your hair from growing. Depends I guess on what kind of damage. If it's just from coloring, perming, etc., it should have no effect on your hair's ability to grow out.

no. actually when you cut it you are getting rid of dead and split ends. And split ends can be the worst because they split from tip to root which will eventually lead you to cut all your hair off and start over. But cutting your damaged hair will be beneficial to you because it allows the rest of your hair to grow longer faster than it would w/ split ends because the ends just break off.

Nope, your hair will continously grow, no matter how short you cut it. It might grow out slower because of the damage, but it will continue to grow. Actually, a stupid piece of fact, but whatever, your hair actually continues to grow even after you've died. Of course once your body begins to deteriorate, the hair will die and fall out and whatever else it does (I haven't died yet, so I couldn't tell you exactly what it does..).

no. actually, cutting your damaged hair will remove some of the split ends and will help ensure that your new growth is healthy.
ok - this part is weird - but if you get your hair cut on a full moon, it will grow faster. it really does.
